Jeep Safari Rethymno Ancient Lappa – Make the journey on a jeep and let your anticipation build with entertainment and fun! An experience combined to the history and culture of Crete!!!

Our journey starts from the unique natural lake of Crete, LIMNI KOURNA, where a short stop will give us the opportunity to capture the panoramic and stunning view that stretches to the northern outskirts of Lefka Ori. The exploration will continue along a beautiful valley with rich natural vegetation, which ends at the water sources of Argyroupoli. A breathtaking landscape with impressive waterfalls will be the perfect place to drink coffee. Then we will head to the monument of HOLY FIVE VIRGINS .There are five tombs in a cave, where Five Virgins were believed to be buried after martyring. On the carved tombs from which holy water guts out, a small church has been built and is dedicated to the Virgins. Afterwards we will climb up a beautiful off road to reach the gorge of Mountro, with the river and the dense forest vegetation. Driving up the mountain we will see the abandoned historical settlement “TO NISI”. The ruins testify to the great history, which we will be called upon to discover for a while.

Later on we will pass through the traditional small village of Mountros to discover the rural life of Creta at the Mitato of Astrinos in Kali Sykia. We will be able to take milk of goats, make and taste the traditional feta of Crete. Nature, smells and the endless horizon will surely be combined to our appetite. An old aged tree with rich foliage for shade, surrounded by stone benches and a cool water source compose the best setting to enjoy a hearty meal of genuine local products. We are now full of mountains and in the background the Libyan Sea awaits us. Starting for the palm forest of PREVELI we will stop at the entrance of a path, just above the rare palm forest. Ten minutes of hiking is enough to be enchanted by the dominance of the palm tree in a setting with unique rock formations, a river fading into the waters of the Libyan Sea and a horizon eager to swallow miles of coastline and small islands. The path leads to stairs to a magnificent beach, where the sun and clear waters will give us unique moments of swimming and relaxation for a little.

On our way back, we will follow the road that leads us to KOURTALIOTIS gorge, one of the most important natural attractions of Rethymno. Going down to the river we will feel the refreshing aura of the gorge, we will admire the wildlife, but also rare vultures that sometimes come out to welcome visitors. Another journey comes to an end with our luggage full of wildlife, colors, smells and tastes from the unknown Crete, which will be accompanied with beautiful memories of a lifetime!!!
