Samaria Gorge Tour Express Program:
At about 08:20 a.m. the bus drives you to a local tavern in Omalos where you stay for 20 minutes enjoying a small breakfast or using the toilets and then our bus takes you to the entrance of the gorge at Xiloskalo (1100m) where you start walking down to Europe’s longest gorge, wild and unspoiled, 5 to 6 hours walking time (starting at 08:50).
Our guide speaks English and German, she is very experienced and during the hiking, she stays behind the group to make sure everybody is safe! At the end of the gorge you arrive in Agia Roumeli at the Libyan Sea. You have time for a swim or just relax and taste local specialities in one of many traditional taverns.
At 17:00 p.m. you meet your guide again and she gives you your ferry boat tickets to Sougia (40 minutes cruise) where our bus picks you up again (18:15 p.m.) and departs back home!

Samaria Gorge information: The Samaria gorge is in southwest Crete in the regional unit of Chania. It was created by a small river running through the White Mountains. The gorge is 16 km long, starting at an altitude of 1,250 m at the northern entrance, and ending at the shores of Southern Crete and the Libyan Sea. The walk through Samaria National Park is 13 km long, but you need to walk 3km extra to reach Agia Roumeli from the park exit or just get on the available mini bus and skip these 3km walking, by just paying 2 euros!
