Balos Gramvousa Tour 2025 bus starts picking people up from the center of Chania at 8:30 a.m. up to Kolymbari where we arrive at about 09:25 a.m. with a small stop at our main office! Then we drive to Kissamos port (Kavonisi) about 43km west of Chania city where we arrive at about 10:00. The guide gives you your boat tickets so you get on board and start living your dream!

Our guide speaks Polish and English, offering you a professional service while driving to Kissamos port and also joining you on the boat and up to the fort of Gramvousa!

If you are staying in:

The Cruise

During the Balos Gramvousa tour, you will enjoy an amazing cruise close to the coastline of the northwest peninsula of Gramvousa. Wild beauty, beautiful scenery, and amazing colors are all in front of your eyes while cruising!

The boat is safe offering a great marine experience. While cruising you will notice the phenomenon of land elevation by 6 to 9 meters above sea level (dated 2000 years ago) which is more obvious here than elsewhere on the island of Crete.

You will arrive at the island of Imeri Gramvousa after a one-hour sail. Get ready for the surprise of your life! A little difficult to walk up to the Venetian fort but when you enter the castle, the views take your breath away! In our opinion, the Gramvousa fort is one of the most beautiful monuments in Greece!

• 13:30 – 13:45 Cruise from Gramvousa to Balos
• 13:45 – 16:45 BALOS BEACH (disembarkation)
• 16:45 Departure from Balos to Kissamos Port
• 18:00 Arrival at Kissamos Port

Gramvousa Island 

There you can visit the Venetian castle, upon the rocky hill, breathe the fresh air and just dream away watching the breathtaking view! You can reach the castle in approximately 15 minutes by footpath.

Visitors say that Gramvousa is even better than Balos! The view from the castle is just breathtaking and that makes it a lifetime experience! Don’t you miss this part of the trip!

Upon your return to the beach, you will have enough time to swim in the crystal clear waters, while a freshly cooked meal will be under preparation on board (at extra charge).

Balos beach

Balos Gramvousa tour’s second part is the departure for the NATURA-protected lagoon of Balos, where you will arrive 15 minutes later. This is a shallow and warm water lagoon with a white-sand seabed that makes the water have a shiny, jade-like color that made Balos the most photographed place in Crete! A little further from the rocks the sea gets deeper and it is perfect for snorkeling! Lucky you!
The boat after staying 100 meters from the shore for 1,5 hours in Balos Blue Lagoon, arrives back at Kissamos Port at about 18:00 where our bus waits for you to get you back to your pick-up points.

USEFUL TIPS

1. For the Balos Gramvousa tour you pay on the bus in cash.
2. On the boat you can buy anything you need at good prices by cash or card! Before getting off the boat on Balos beach make sure you have water and food because the only kiosk in Balos is located at the other end of the beach.
3. On Balos beach there are hundreds of sunbeds and umbrellas for rent.
4. On Gramvousa island there is no kiosk or umbrellas. Make sure you walk up to Gramvousa Fort, it is incredible!
5. Make sure you use high-protection sun cream and a hat.
6. On the boat you can ask our guide anything you need! Our guide joins the trip and makes sure everything is memorable!

We kindly request you cancel your bookings at least 24 hours before each tour! That way we can sell your seats to other people interested to join our tours!
